I want to share with you all a poem written by Dr. Fran Orenstein shortly after the tragedy as Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. It is an amazing work that needs to be spread around the globe.
Not an auspicious day
An ordinary winter Friday
A week before the ending
Or the new beginning of the world
Only two days after 12-12-12
A day of ascendance and movement
When meteors raced across the sky
And planets began their prophetic alignment
On this ordinary December day
The world shook in fear and rage
As twenty tiny stars winked out
And darkness fell on unrealized dreams
When hope crashed in a hail of bullets
Unspun dreidls, unopened Chanukah gifts
Hidden Christmas toys waiting in vain
A red bike buried in a box never to be ridden
The unbearable agony of drifting souls
Reaching out for Mommy’s arms
Their unfinished lives
Now only a fantasy

This is an amazing story about a man who is well-known throughout the pool world. The life that he lived will keep you in suspense. Somethings he does, you would never think of doing! What kind of person was he and why did he do the things that he did. He may have been a pool player, but what else was he! Why did he go to reformatories and prison! Was he with the mob or just friends with them! What has become of him today!
